A new case of autism is diagnosed almost every 20 minutes. The developmental disorder is having a huge impact on the lives of children. Shannon Kenitz with the International Hyperbarics Association says, “When you have a child who has autism and they are not speaking or they have problems with digestive or they have any type of speech or language problem and inflammation, hyperbaric gets to the cells where it wouldn’t normally be able to get because you’re forcing the oxygen through the pressure of the hyperbaric chamber.” There is no cure for autism but research shows that early intervention can greatly improve a child’s development.
